This book is part of the Pocket Architecture series. Henri Edouard Ciriani studied architecture at the University of Lima, where he became familiar with the theory and methods of the Modern Movement, which he has followed throughout his life. After an intensive professional training in 1964 he moved to France, where he received his first important commission: The Noisy II quarter at Marne-la-Vallee (1980). This immediately became the prototype for a new architecture, capable of engendering a new civic condition. In his Children's Centre at Torcy, the Peronne Memorial and the Museum at Arles, the masterpieces of his maturity, Ciriani reveals an architecture based on disciplined design and renewal within the terms of the Modern Movement. But, above all, these building reveal his extraordinary work on space, natural light and color. 96 pages with photographs and drawings, color and black & white.
